Independent Determination of Bunker Quantities during Bunker Supply
A bunkering survey is carried out to independently determine the quantity of fuel supplied to a vessel during bunkering operations. The survey includes measurements of both the receiving vessel and the supplying barge before commencement and upon completion of bunkering.
WHEN REQUIRED
An independent bunkering survey helps owners, charterers and operators verify the actual quantity of bunkers delivered and minimise the risk of quantity-related disputes.
SERVICE INCLUDES
- Measurements of all bunker tanks on both the supplying barge and supplied vessel before commencement of bunkering
- Measurements of all bunker tanks on both the supplying barge and supplied vessel upon completion of bunkering
- Taking soundings or ullages, depending on tank content, and taking gauge readings where applicable
- Measurement of fuel temperature in each measured tank
- Verification that the supplying barge and supplied vessel tank calibration tables are Class-approved
- Application of temperature corrections
- Calculation of delivered quantities for each declared fuel grade
- Preparation of bunkering survey reports and certificates
REPORTING
Separate Bunkering Survey Reports are prepared for the supplying barge and the receiving vessel, showing bunker quantities before commencement and upon completion of bunkering.
Bunkering Survey Reports contain detailed measurements, calculations and delivered quantities.
