CARGO HOLD INSPECTION

Inspection of Cargo Holds for Cleanliness and Suitability to Load Intended Cargo

Cargo Holds Inspection

A Cargo Hold Inspection is carried out before loading to verify that cargo holds are clean, dry and suitable for the intended cargo. The inspection is performed in accordance with the applicable loading standard and the requirements for the cargo to be loaded, including grain, coal, iron ore, fertilisers, minerals and other dry bulk commodities.

WHEN REQUIRED

An independent Cargo Hold Inspection confirms that the vessel is ready to receive the intended cargo and helps minimise the risk of loading delays or cargo contamination. Independent certification provides confidence to shippers, receivers, charterers and cargo interests that the cargo holds comply with the applicable hold cleanliness standard.

WHAT IS INCLUDED?

RESULTS AND REPORTING

A Cargo Hold Inspection Certificate is issued together with a detailed photographic report. The documentation records the condition of each cargo hold, observations made during the inspection and the surveyor's assessment of the vessel's suitability for loading the intended cargo.
