Inspection of Cargo Tanks for Cleanliness and Suitability to Load Intended Cargo
A Cargo Tank Inspection is carried out before loading to verify that cargo tanks are clean, dry and suitable for loading the intended liquid cargo. The inspection is performed for edible oils in accordance with applicable requirements.
An independent Cargo Tank Inspection confirms that the cargo tanks are suitable for loading the intended cargo and helps minimise the risk of contamination and loading delays. Independent inspection provides confidence to owners, charterers, shippers and receivers that the cargo tanks comply with the applicable tank cleanliness standard.
A Cargo Tank Inspection Certificate is issued together with a detailed photographic report. The documentation records the condition of each cargo tank, observations made during the inspection and the surveyor's assessment of the vessel's suitability for loading the intended liquid cargo.
