CONTAINER INSPECTION

Inspection of Containers, Containerized Cargo, Damage to Containers

Damage to container. Hole at the top of container. Checking condition from the top

Container inspections are carried out to verify the apparent condition and suitability of containers before loading, assess the condition of containers and cargo during container unloading, and document container damage or alleged cargo damage following transportation incidents.

The inspection may include verification of seals and sealing or unsealing containers.

WHEN REQUIRED

Independent container inspections help owners, container lines, shippers, receivers, and insurers verify that containers are suitable for loading and that cargo has been transported without apparent damage or contamination.

In the event of incidents, the survey provides documented evidence regarding the condition of both the container and its contents.

If a container has been damaged during sea transportation, the survey may also include testing of the cargo for possible previous contact with salt water using a Silver Nitrate (AgNO3) solution.

SERVICE INCLUDES

RESULTS AND REPORTING

A detailed Final Survey Report is issued together with comprehensive photographic documentation. The report records the apparent condition of the container, inspection findings, observed damage, condition of the cargo, seal verification, evidence of seawater ingress, Silver Nitrate test results where applicable and other findings relevant to the agreed inspection scope.
