DAMAGE SURVEY

Independent Investigation of Maritime Accidents

Damage Survey. Measurements onboard the vessel

A Damage Survey is carried out following accidents or incidents involving vessels, cargo, equipment or shore facilities. The purpose of the survey is to independently establish the apparent extent of the damage, document the circumstances of the incident and provide reliable evidence supporting the client's interests.

WHEN REQUIRED

Independent damage surveys help owners, charterers, insurers, P&I Clubs and other interested parties establish the apparent cause and extent of damage following an incident. Thorough documentation and evidence collection provide valuable support during insurance claims, contractual disputes and subsequent technical investigations.

The survey may include inspection of damaged vessels, cargo, equipment or shore facilities, measurement of damaged areas, identification of affected structural members, review of available documentation, log books and other relevant records, collection of witness information in accordance with the agreed inspection scope.

SERVICE INCLUDES

RESULTS AND REPORTING

A detailed Final Survey Report is issued together with comprehensive photographic documentation. The report records the apparent extent of the damage, measurements where performed, affected structural members, collected documentary evidence, witness information, surveyor's observations, operational records reviewed and other findings relevant to the agreed inspection scope.

The report is prepared in an objective and independent manner, documenting observations without prejudice to the interests of any party. It provides reliable documentary evidence supporting insurance claims and technical investigations.
