A draught survey is a method used to determine the quantity of bulk cargo loaded or discharged by measuring the vessel's displacement before and after cargo operations.

WHEN REQUIRED

An independent draught survey provides an accurate determination of cargo quantity and helps shipowners, charterers, traders and cargo interests verify loaded or discharged weights, minimising the risk of quantity disputes and shortages.

SERVICE INCLUDES

Initial and final draught surveys, including reading vessel draughts, soundings of ballast water and fresh water tanks, determining the dock water density by certified densimeter
Intermediate calculations using Class approved vessel's hydrostatic tables and ballast trim calibration tables
Cargo quantity calculations
Preparation of survey report

REPORTING

The draught survey report contains the cargo quantity, together with all observations, measurements, and intermediate calculations performed during the initial and final draught surveys.
