Visual Inspection of Vessel Weather Deck Openings
A Hatch Cover Inspection is carried out to estimate the general condition of the vessel's hatch covers and weather deck openings. Rubber seals, compression bars, quick-acting cleats and other hatch cover components are inspected, and all visible deficiencies together with recommendations for corrective action are documented in the survey report.
A Hatch Cover Inspection is carried out before loading moisture-sensitive cargoes, as part of vessel condition inspections, or as a periodic inspection requested by owners, insurers or P&I Clubs.
A detailed survey report is prepared containing observations, photographic evidence and descriptions of all identified deficiencies and recommendations. The report provides an independent record of the vessel's condition and may serve as supporting documentation.
